More than 80 second, third, and fourth grade students assembled this afternoon to be briefed on the Lewis and Clark trip that begins next Monday.
They clearly showed their curiosity by asking questions ranging from “How old are you?” to “How many animals did they discover?” It was clear that they have been studying in preparation of the journey and they already know a great deal about it.
When I told them I have personally interviewed both Lewis and Clark, they quickly and unanimously challenged the truth of the statement. Pretty sharp kids.
I really enjoyed visiting with them and seeing their enthusiasm.
